Adoptable Dogs

All dogs from PC Humane Society are spayed/neutered, vaccinated (including rabies), dewormed and microchipped before they are adopted to their new homes.

Dean is a mastiff mix, approx 1.5 year old male and is a big boy, coming in at 100 lbs. He is in foster currently as he gets quite anxious in shelter. In foster he is a completely different dog and enjoys playing with his foster dog siblings, will sometimes try to chase the cat because he wants to play with them too so a cat in the home who is used to dogs is okay. He is kennel trained and house trained. Enjoys going for walks but gets extra speedy when he knows he's close to home since at his heart he is a homebody.

Annie is a kengal mix, approx 4 years old. She requires an owner with experience with guardian breeds as she does have a stubborn streak in her. She is affectionate with those she knows and trusts. She is a big girl (definitely hitting that 100 lb mark) and her owner must be confident around her and for her. She LOVES to swim and go for walks. She is dog selective but seems to ignore cats when they wander by on her foster day trips. Annie has had professional training in a boarding situation and knows her commands like the back of her paw. She is a lovely girl who just hasn't found her right fit yet. A fenced larger property with some privacy/seclusion would be a wonderful fit for this girl but we realize is a big ask.

Ellie is an Old English Bulldog (though there is lot's of speculation about that on our social media, haha!) who is around 4 years old. She has grown up around kids and cats, as well as other dogs though she would be best in a home as the only dog. Her butt and tail just start wiggling as soon as someone is with her and she loves giving kisses and leaning against you to let you know how happy she is. She likes car rides and camping, thought cannot be trusted off leash. This cannonball of love is waiting for her new home!

Benson is THE fluffiest, most lovable, goofy guy around! He is happiest when he is with people: leaning on you, sitting in your lap (yes, he thinks he is a lap dog), or just laying at your feet. He is a big boy, with lots of fur. He is approx 2 years old, male, shepherd mix. He doesn't seem interested in the cats in shelter but would need proper introductions. He enjoys other dogs but is mostly focused on the people around him. Benson was in foster for a bit and his foster family had nothing but rave reviews on how smart this guy is and how quickly he picked up obedience skills. He adored the 4 year old boy in his foster home and would love a kid of his own. The resident dog at his foster home was not keen on the new addition but Benson was a gentleman (other than filling his cheeks with food and taking it to the other side of the house to eat, haha!)

Luna is a large breed, likely Anatolian Shepherd mix who is around 2.5 years old. She loves people, knows some basic commands, is crate trained and house trained. She is very puppyish in nature and has some anxiety and will do best with someone who is home often or willing to take her with them. She is working on her leash walking skills with our amazing dog walkers. She is not tested with cats, does well with dogs who have manners and are introduced properly. Due to her size and exhuberant nature, a home without small children will likely be best.

This soft eyed girl is Lydia. A black lab x shepherd mix, young adult who will make a wonderful family dog. She adores people and waits patiently for them to see her. She gets excited when she knows she's reeled you in and needs occasional reminders to keep her paws on the floor but with consistency and time, she will make a phenomenal companion. She walks well on a leash and is a favourite among our dog walkers.

Mira is a lovely Pyranees mix female, around 5 years old. She came in severely matted and had to be shaved down to remove the worst of it. She is very food motivated, a little stubborn, but enjoys the staff and volunteers at the shelter. We are unsure about cats, and she mostly seems to ignore the other dogs in shelter. She would make a lovely companion for someone needing a little slower girl.

Putzie is on a Foster to Adopt trial! Fingers crossed!
It's Greased Lightning! Actually, it's Putzie, who is a young husky x great pyranees puppy born in shelter August 12, 2025. He is full of attitude and is an absolute delight to spend time with. His side eye game is next level and makes staff and volunteers crack up every day. Putzie is available for meet and greets with a submitted application which can be found on our website here or a paper copy can be supplied in shelter.

Bits is the perfect medium size dog who has made leaps in bounds in her confidence since coming into our shelter. When she first came in, she would cower in the back of her kennel, we would have to coax her through doorways and she would maybe make it down the street after very slow progress on walks. Now she comes to the front of the kennel with confidence (usually looking for a treat) and walks for blocks. She still sometimes has times of uncertainty when new sights or sounds sneak up on her but she is learning to take cues and confidence from her handlers. She would likely do best in a home where she is the only dog and could possibly live with a dog savvy cat, but she will likely chase them if they run. It would require proper introductions and supervision to integrate everyone safely. The fastest way to this girls heart is definitely through her stomach, which helps with training as well. She is very smart and will make someone a wonderful companion.

We do our best to keep the web page updated but with the influx of animals this year it has been harder. We do keep our Facebook updated almost daily
